TORONTO, Ont. — Former Canadian racing champion Antoine Bessette wanted to bring the race track experience to the street.
The idea was to take the aggressive performance of a formula car, and put into a stylish body that would stick to the road and exhilarate the driver. From that vision was born the FELINO cB7, currently the only Canadian supercar in production. Conceived and built in Montreal, the cB7 was a decade in the making — including extensive testing on the track — before the first production model rolled out of the shop in 2017. The next generation of the cB7, the road-legal cB7R, is available this year.
A brutally gorgeous car that combines ferocity, elegance and luxury with ultra-performance, the FELINO cB7R will be a showcase vehicle in Auto Exotica at the 2020 Canadian International AutoShow.
“The FELINO cB7R was designed to bring unprecedented driving experience and emotions to the owner,” says Bessette. “Our engineers have focused raw performance in the driver’s seat. The cB7R is a track car adapted for the city. It’s a feline delivered without a leash.”
With a top speed of more than 345 kilometres per hour, it only takes 2.9 seconds to go from zero to 100. Powered by a naturally aspirated V8 engine, it pushes 700 horsepower. It carries a starting price of $360,000, that can climb as the driver customizes the FELINO to their own specifications.
With only 10 cB7R vehicles planned for production, it is a rare car you are unlikely to just stumble upon on the street.
“Showcasing supercars has become an integral part of the Canadian International AutoShow, and we are excited to continue that tradition with the FELINO cB7R,” says Jason Campbell, General Manager of the AutoShow. “We have featured some of the finest and rarest cars from the around the world. It is great that in 2020 we are showing off what Canadians can do in the supercar market.”
